From the Film’s write up over the the UK Jewish Film Festival:
“For over seven years, British filmmaker Jane Mingay followed Beth Alexander in her fight for custody of her two children. Born in Manchester, Alexander was a bright student when she met medical doctor Michael Schlesinger, the son of a well-established family in Austriaβs Haredi world, while visiting Vienna in 2006. The two fell in love and decided to marry, but their idyllic relationship ended shortly after their wedding day, with Schlesinger fabricating stories about his wifeβs mental health and, eventually, preventing her from seeing her children for over 10 years. This important and powerful documentary about Alexanderβs unbelievable plight and courage, sheds light on the intricate laws and social codes of the Chabad community.”
Studio Donshades was brought in by film’s producers, Mosaic Films, to work with Director Jane Mingay, to bring the film to a final cut, ready for Online and Distribution with Paramount +.
