The isITethical? Exchange is a Research Project led by world leaders in Design and Interaction based at Lancaster University. The project is pushing the field of digital Ethics forward while producing a set of accessible ethical decision making tools to inform software development in the rapidly moving fields of Public Service communications.

As we move towards a 5G always-on network for public services operators (Police, Fire, Ambulance, Mountain Rescue) the research asks questions of the ethics that underpin data capture and the transmission of information that the state holds on civilians in a disaster relief effort.

Lancaster University approached Studio Donshades asking us to capture the work; focusing on the table top exercise – the IsItEthical? table-top game.

We set out with an intention to gently push the genre of Research-Project summation films and are pleased with the outcome telling the story of this world-leading research work that feels ever more acutely relevant as every day passes.
